Glossary of terms

These are terms that we use in the guidance.

Advisory panels	There are two advisory panels, People and Diversity Advisory Panel (PDAP) and Research Diversity Advisory Panel (RDAP)
Executive	Each panel and sub-panel has an executive. This group is comprised of the chair of that panel or sub-panel deputy chair secretariat members
Hub	The REF Hub is the system that appears whenever you sign in to your REF account
Main panel	There are four main panels (A, B, C and D) which provide leadership and guidance to a group of sub-panels
My files	This is a file storage area that only you have access to but you can share files with other people on the REF
Sub-panels	There are 34 sub-panels, one for each unit of assessment (UoA)
Secretariat	The Secretariat support the main and sub-panels providing high level procedural guidance and dedicated secretariat support
Teams	Where Teams has a capital T this refers to the application, Microsoft Teams
